THERE WAS MORE good news for Roscommon football and Waterford hurling fans today as Senan Kilbride and Kevin Moran were named as the GAA/GPA Opel All-Star Players of the Month in football and hurling respectively.

Both were rewarded from their contributions during their sides’ league campaigns with Kilbride’s man-of-the-match performance against Down, helping his county clinch victory in the Division II final, earning him the nod.

The experienced St Brigid’s man scored four points from play as the Rossies enjoyed a 1-17 to 0-15 win over a 14-man Down.

Kevin Moran takes the hurling honours after Waterford were crowned Division 1 champions in Thurles. The De La Salle man of the match collected three points from play in the final, as his side claimed victory over Cork on the day.

Cork’s Colm O’Neill and Dublin’s Jack McCaffrey had been the other football nominees while Waterford’s Noel Connors and Cork’s Seamus Harnedy were the other nominees for the hurling award.
